"New Arrival" Library Books That Are On My TBR📚

The new fiction arrivals is the first place I check when I go to the library. While I limit myself to how many I check out, especially because of my never ending TBR at home, I do add them to my list of books to get another time. Here are the 4 that caught my eye while I was there, 2 of which I brought home with me!

🌙Water Moon

💧AUTHOR:: Samantha Sotto Yambao

💧GENRE: Contemporary Fantasy

editing this post made me regret not bringing this one home with me but I doubt I would get to it anyway. It sounds SO good

🍓Strange Folk

🌱AUTHOR: Alli Dyer

🌱GENRE: Witchy, Fantasy, Suspense

I love a good witchy suspense. I would probably enjoy this more when the weather starts to get colder though.

🧜‍♂️A Magic Deep and Drowning

💳Checked Out

🌊AUTHOR: Hester Fox

🌊GENRE: Historical Fantasy, Retelling

A gender swapped retelling of the little mermaid. A stand alone historical was right up my alley right now

🌸Immortal

🗡AUTHOR: Sue Lynn Tan

🗡GENRE: Romantic Fantasy

💳Checked Out

I loved the book The Daughter of The Moon Goddess from this author. This is another stand alone which is definitely what I need.

What was the last book you checked out from the library?

... Read moreLibrary new arrivals offer readers exciting opportunities to discover fresh and captivating stories, especially in contemporary fantasy and genre-crossing narratives. Among the highlighted books, "Water Moon" by Samantha Sotto Yambao immerses readers in a contemporary fantasy setting, appealing to fans who enjoy imaginative worlds blending everyday life with the magical. "Strange Folk" by Alli Dyer delivers a witchy fantasy suspense novel set in a lush, magical Appalachian backdrop. It resonantly combines folklore elements with thrilling mystery, perfect for those who favor atmospheric and suspense-driven storytelling. The story's depiction of a magical family and a sinister mystery fits well with readers seeking a dark, immersive reading experience. "A Magic Deep and Drowning" by Hester Fox is a standout historical fantasy retelling of The Little Mermaid, featuring a gender-swapped protagonist. This novel's rich historical detail alongside a fantastical reimagining makes it an excellent choice for readers enjoying standalone fantasy with strong historical elements. The Dutch Golden Age setting adds a unique cultural layer that enriches the narrative. Romantic fantasy enthusiasts will appreciate "Immortal" by Sue Lynn Tan, a standalone novel filled with forbidden magic, dangerous secrets, and a young ruler's passion to protect her kingdom. Fans of Tan’s "Daughter of the Moon Goddess" will find a familiar enchanting world and compelling characters to get lost in. These books reflect current readers’ trends towards diverse fantasy subgenres—combining contemporary storytelling, folklore, historical retellings, and romance. Libraries constantly update their collections to include bestselling and emerging voices, making them invaluable resources for discovering new favorites. If you love exploring new releases, marking these titles on your TBR list is a fantastic start. Additionally, engaging with library offerings not only supports local institutions but also opens an avenue to explore a wide range of genres from fantasy to suspense. Whether you limit your checkouts due to a growing TBR or seek inspiration from new titles, visits to the new arrivals section can enhance your reading experience. What’s the last book you checked out from the library? Your next great read might be waiting on those new arrival shelves!
