Today was nothing short of a miracle. After months of my cousin, Lisa, withdrawing into silence, with little interest in anything beyond sitting and staring, she helped me cook!

The sparkle in her eyes and the simple joy of stirring ingredients brought tears to mine. Moments like this are huge wins in the journey of caregiving for someone with Alzheimer’s.

It reminded me that connection is still possible, even in the smallest ways. Cherish the little wins—they mean everything and a win is a win!
