踵上げ（カーフレイズ）はふくらはぎの筋肉を鍛えるために非常にポピュラーなエクササイズですが、実は「何回もできる＝筋肉がしっかり鍛えられている」とは限りません。私自身、最初に踵上げを試したときは、何十回も楽にできると思っていました。しかし後から学んだのは、回数ばかり重ねて正しいフォームを無視すると、ふくらはぎではなく膝や足首に余計な負担がかかるということでした。 重要なのは重心の位置です。踵を上げる際に体重が前に流れてしまうと、膝に負担がかかりすぎてしまいます。正しくは足の人差し指側に重心を置き、踵が内側や外側に倒れないように安定させること。股関節を少し曲げて行うことで、このフォームを保ちやすくなり、ふくらはぎの筋肉に効かせることができます。 実際に私が導入したポイントは「回数より質」。最初の5回を丁寧に行い、ふくらはぎの筋肉がしっかり使われているか確かめるのが大切です。ふくらはぎがパンパンになる感覚や動作中の膝の軽さが目安になります。続けていくうちに歩くときの推進力が増し、膝や足首への負担も軽減され、長時間歩いても疲れにくくなりました。 最後に注意してほしいのは、かかと挙げを「ただ回数だけこなす」やり方を習慣化しないこと。間違ったフォームで繰り返すと、膝の痛みや足の変形リスクが高まる恐れがあります。ぜひこの記事で紹介したポイントを意識しながら、質の高い踵上げを継続してみてください。
