I recently experienced this myself during my post-comp reset week when I decided to trade my usual barbell sessions for morning runs instead. One of the best parts about morning running is the peacefulness and fresh air you get before the day fully kicks in. I have access to a great running path near where I live, making it easy to enjoy this daily habit. It’s amazing to notice how running even just 1.4 miles, which takes around 25 minutes, can set a positive tone for the day. The combination of light cardio and being outdoors helped me recharge both physically and mentally. Switching from heavy strength training to cardio-based workouts in this phase gave my muscles a chance to repair. Plus, it felt refreshing not to be confined to the gym. Using apps like Strava helped me track distance, time, and steps, keeping me motivated to maintain consistency with my running routine. If you’re someone looking to reset after a period of intense workouts or competition, incorporating morning runs can be a gentle yet effective way to keep active without overwhelming your body. Over time, you might also notice improvements in endurance and stamina. I’m planning to share my daily run vlogs to document this new routine and hope it inspires others on their fitness journey too. In summary, when you feel burned out or need a mental and physical reset, consider swapping heavy gym days for fresh air runs. It’s a small change that can make a big difference in your overall fitness and well-being.
