Our Morning | Mom of 2 Under 3

Good morning! I have been waking up before my girls, and I found that it motivates me to be more productive throughout the day.

This morning I woke up at 6:45 and headed downstairs to make coffee at 7:00. I unloaded the dishwasher while the coffee brewed, and caught up on The Bachelor before my girls woke up. Anyone else still watch the bachelor?? I’ve been watching for 12 years and I can’t stop no matter how much it’s changed lol.

Payton woke up at 8:15. I got her dressed, we played with toys and read books,then I gave her a bottle. Eliza woke up at 8:30, and she woke up hungry! She ate breakfast, watched a movie, and played the whole morning.

Our mornings in the winter are slow paced. Finding new activities to do with toddlers on days when they’re home is important to me! What are your favorite indoor activities, crafts, or games to do in the winter months with your little ones?

Mornings can be both challenging and rewarding, especially with two young children. Many parents find that starting the day early allows them to carve out time for personal routines and preparation. Engaging with toddlers through creative activities is vital, particularly during winter when outdoor play is limited. Some excellent indoor activities include building forts with blankets, engaging in simple arts and crafts, or setting up a treasure hunt with toys hidden around the house. Additionally, reading books together can foster a love for stories and stimulate young minds. It’s also important to incorporate physical activities, such as dancing or yoga designed for kids, to help them burn off energy. Balancing structured and free play encourages healthy development and keeps mornings exciting. Every family's routine will look different, but finding what works best for you can make mornings with little ones manageable.
