What I Loved About Pregnancy

There were many things I loved about pregnancy that I never want to forget. If you’re pregnant, I hope you enjoy every second. It is a period of your life that is special, intimate, and fleeting. There are most certainly hard days, weeks, and even months throughout pregnancy, but these things are what made pregnancy special to me.

💗 I LOVED BEING PREGNANT IN THE SUMMER

I thought I was going to be absolutely miserable having my entire third trimester be over the summer, but I embraced it! Floating in the pool and eating tons of popsicles and watermelon was heaven

💗I LOVED FEELING MY BABY MOVE

This is probably my favorite part of pregnancy because of how connected it made me feel with my little ones!

💗I LOVED DREAMING WHAT SHE’D LOOK LIKE

Getting ultrasound pictures are so fun! I thought my daughters were going to be exact copies of each other but their features are different!

💗I LOVED PREGNANCY CRAVINGS

I mean this is self explanatory. All food tastes so much better when pregnant (once you get past the morning sickness phase of course)

💗I LOVED OUR UNIQUE BOND

The bond mothers carry with their babies is the absolute best feeling. I can shower my girls with hugs and kisses all day long 🥰

💗I LOVED THAT SHE WAS SAFE

Raising kids today is scary at times. On occasion, I’ll miss that secure feeling of knowing my babies were always safe in my belly

Did you enjoy pregnancy? I definitely had my hard days, but overall it’s an experience that brings so much peace, happiness, and excitement.

... Read moreOh, those first flutters! There's nothing quite like it, is there? I remember feeling like tiny butterflies at first, then those gentle nudges grew into full-blown kicks and rolls. It truly is the most incredible way to connect with your little one before they even arrive. I used to love gently talking to my belly, singing lullabies, or playing calming music, and feeling them respond with a little tap or a wiggle. It made everything so unbelievably real and solidified that unique bond we talk about. Sometimes, just resting my hand on my bump and waiting for a little movement was enough to make my entire day brighter. It's a constant, joyful reminder of the life growing inside you, a secret language only you two share, and it deepens your connection in ways you never thought possible. Before the big reveal, there's a truly special, almost secret phase of pregnancy. While 'hiding' might not be the right word for everyone, those early weeks, when it's just your little secret, are incredibly intimate and precious. I remember savoring that secure feeling, knowing my baby was safe and sound within me, protected from the outside world. It’s a quiet time to truly connect with yourself and your growing baby, to dream about their future, and to process all the incredible changes happening internally. It's a journey that starts so personally, before you share it with the world. Those quiet moments, just you and your bump, filled with anticipation and wonder, are truly precious and form the beautiful foundation of your bond. It's a period of deep introspection and personal growth. And let's talk about our incredible pregnant bodies! It's absolutely amazing how our bodies adapt and transform to create and nurture new life. I remember looking in the mirror, seeing my growing belly, and slowly learning to embrace every new curve and even the beautiful stretch marks that eventually appeared. It's a powerful testament to the miracle happening within. Taking a mirror selfie, like I did, can be a wonderful way to document and celebrate these changes, capturing a moment in time. It's about feeling beautiful and strong, no matter what stage your body is in. Finding comfortable clothes that highlight your bump, or simply enjoying the feeling of your skin against the air, perhaps even a moment 'topless' in the privacy of your home to truly see and appreciate your changing form, can be so empowering. This period taught me so much about self-love and appreciating my body for its immense strength and its unparalleled ability to nurture. Every mom's journey is unique, but the self-acceptance and pride in what your body is doing is a universal joy that deserves to be celebrated. Ultimately, pregnancy is a kaleidoscope of emotions and experiences. From the quiet joy of feeling those first movements to the profound awe of your body's transformation, and the secure, intimate bond you form, it's an experience that truly leaves an indelible mark on your heart. Embrace every single moment, because it truly is fleeting, unique, and utterly unforgettable.
