Sharing my experience after undergoing a cesarean section that resulted in unexpected severe complications, I hope to raise awareness about the importance of careful surgical procedures and early detection of post-operation issues. Initially, I was unaware that my uterus had been accidentally cut during the cesarean. Unfortunately, this led to the organ deteriorating and becoming infected, to the point where my body was literally 'rotting from the inside.' This caused a continuous pus discharge and a terrible odor that significantly affected my quality of life. Due to the infection, I developed a fistula that severely impaired the normal functioning of my blood flow, necessitating regular hemodialysis—three hours per session without anesthesia. Each session involved harsh procedures to clean my blood, where the dirty blood is taken out through a vein and cleaned before being returned to my body. This experience was not just physically painful but emotionally draining as well. What I found hardest was the gradual realization that my organs were being affected because of the delay in identifying the severity of the infection. Immediate and consistent medical intervention is crucial in such cases to prevent irreversible damage. Throughout this journey, the support from medical staff, family, and those who understood my situation was invaluable. If you or someone you know undergoes a cesarean, please stay vigilant for any unusual symptoms such as persistent discharge, foul odor, or severe pain. Early communication with healthcare providers can save lives and prevent life-altering complications. My story is a call for awareness, careful post-surgical monitoring, and compassionate care to ensure others do not suffer similarly.
