Hi dear readers,

It has been a volatile last 2 weeks ever since Trump decided to disrupt the markets by threatening tariffs on China. However, if you are aware of his usual playbook, you will realise it’s always TACO (Trump always chickens out) and it presented a good opportunity to buy quality stocks at a discount.

With yesterday mild CPI data, it has helped to push the markets (both S&P and QQQ) to new all time highs, and my portfolio has also recovered the paper losses and it’s also at its all time highs. With reference to photo 2, I am currently outperforming the Nasdaq by 60% YTD and I am looking to try end the year around 100% YTD..still got slightly over 2 months to try eke out the additional 20% gains..

As my portfolio size continues to grow larger with each passing month, the daily fluctuations are also getting larger. With reference to photo 3, 8 out of the 18 trading days in October has seen a 5 digit swing in either direction. Still getting used to such volatility and it’s getting better day by day..

So what did I do recently? With reference to photo 4, I just averaged down my Lululemon at 166 and 173 to bring my average price to 184 which is very close to the current trading price. If it happens to drop to below 170 again, will scoop up bit by bit..

Photos 5 and 6 will show my current holdings along with their average prices and quantities.

Do take note next week will have a lot of major events - trump xi talks, big tech earnings and fomc decision. The following week will then have pltr results on 3 Nov and it might be the catalyst for pltr to achieve new all time highs. As usual stay safe in the markets.

The above is just my personal thoughts and does not constitute financial advice. Please do your own due diligence when it comes to investment decisions.

... Read moreNavigating stock market volatility requires not just patience but also careful analysis of technical levels and portfolio health. One common question I often get is about technical analysis of SOXL, especially its support and resistance levels for 2025. From my observations, strong support zones around key moving averages often provide good entry points, while resistance levels mark potential profit-taking spots. Staying updated on this helps me make informed decisions to maximize gains and minimize drawdowns. Regarding portfolio snapshots, I find sharing a transparent stock portfolio screenshot invaluable for tracking and reviewing my asset allocation and performance over time. It also helps me spot which stocks need averaging down or trimming based on current market conditions — just as I did recently averaging down Lululemon around the 166-173 range to maintain a favorable average cost close to current prices. You might also see trading terms like "88cash" or "1.30k" in my day-to-day trades. "88cash" reflects available liquidity or a cash buffer, which is critical for seizing new opportunities or handling market dips without panic selling. The term "1.30k" simply represents thousands in figures used in daily profit and loss updates, which gives a quick snapshot of gains or losses making these quick to process during volatile market days. For anyone managing a growing portfolio, it’s essential to monitor these daily P&L swings and understand their implications on your overall investment strategy. As my portfolio grew larger, daily fluctuations amplified, but tracking them diligently made me more comfortable navigating such volatility. This hands-on experience, supported by real portfolio data and timely analysis, has been pivotal in striving towards my goal of doubling returns this year. Remember, the key is to balance risk with opportunity and remain disciplined amidst market noise.
