From my personal experience, one of the key factors to successfully gaining weight was focusing on eating nutrient-dense, high-calorie foods consistently throughout the day. I made sure to include plenty of proteins and healthy fats, with shakes often exceeding 1,000 calories to boost my intake without feeling overly full. For example, I combined sources like steak, ground turkey, chicken breast, and salmon which are rich in protein essential for muscle repair and growth. Incorporating healthy fats such as avocados and olive oil helped me increase my calorie consumption healthily. Replacing water with whole milk in canned tuna gave me an extra protein and calorie boost, making meals more satisfying. Carbohydrates played a crucial role too; I focused heavily on rice, potatoes, pasta, granola, and oatmeal during breakfast and other meals to fuel workouts and recovery. Adding natural sweeteners like honey and fruits such as bananas not only improved the taste but provided quick energy and additional nutrients. Consistency was key—eating frequently and making sure every meal included a balance of high-calorie proteins, carbs, and fats helped me steadily gain muscle mass. It's also important to tailor shakes and meal components to your preferences for a sustainable routine.
