Maldives 🇲🇻 | Eat, Beach, Sleep, Repeat ✨🌴

(Nope it’s still not our honeymoon, it’s my birthday trip hehe 👸🏻)

Not many people know, but Maldives is actually make up of many small islands and runs on a “one island, one resort”concept. So you practically live on that island for however long your trip is! 🤓 (Unless you resort-hop 💸)

R actually made the call on the resort this time, so here are his main considerations:

• Overwater Villa

• Private pool in room

• Direct access to sea from room

• Accessible by both seaplane and boat

• Full board package

• Budget

Kagi is a relatively small boutique resort with only 50 villas on the island. So the stay there felt very private, quiet and relaxing. 😌🍃 My soul was truly rejuvenated from the zen-ness 🧘🏻‍♀️

There are daily activities available for guests to participate in as well — morning/evening yoga sessions, fishing/diving trips, pilates reformer etc. Some are complementary, some are chargeable. They literally have an app for you to view the schedule and make booking for the activities directly. ✨ Besides these, guests could also book for spa treatments, pickleball sessions (yes they have a pickleball court on the island!), and free kayaking and snorkelling around the island. In fact, all guests are provided with the snorkelling equipments when we arrive. 🤿

And honestly, just go for the all-inclusive package! 💖 This covers all your 3 meals, snacks and drinks. Think getting to eat & drink whatever and whenever you like…this is true royalty 👑 The food was surprisingly good as well! They have eggs benedict (🤯) for their breakfast buffet, they make really good fish curry and oh myyy we devoured the grilled tiger prawns during the BBQ buffet 🤤 And I think we actually tried all of their signatures mocktails…which was 1 page long 🍹🤣

Also, I think Kagi assigns a staff to each guest group? So it’s almost like you have a butler on the island. 🤭 All the staffs are really friendly and they also took very good care of us — when they heard that I was prone to motion sickness, they gave me motion sickness pills before I went for my chasing dolphins sunset cruise.

Would totally recommend Kagi for people looking to slow down your pace of life 😎 And enjoy the water activities of Maldives without the bustle of beach clubs 🌴❤️☀️

Kagi Maldives Resort & Spa
6/21 Edited to

... Read moreStaying at a boutique resort like Kagi in the Maldives offers a unique experience compared to typical resort hopping. With only 50 villas on the island, the entire environment feels intimate and secluded, ideal for travelers seeking privacy and tranquility. The "one island, one resort" concept means you truly immerse yourself in the natural beauty and rhythm of the island life without distractions. One standout feature at Kagi is the easy access to water activities. Having snorkeling equipment provided from arrival is a thoughtful touch that encourages exploration of vibrant coral reefs just steps from your villa. Kayaking and paddleboarding around the island allow you to take in breathtaking views of the ocean and sunset in a slow, peaceful way. For those wanting to be more active, their daily offerings like yoga, pilates reformer sessions, and even pickleball add variety to the stay and foster a healthy, relaxed lifestyle. The all-inclusive meal plan at Kagi deserves special mention as well. Unlike many resorts where dining options can be limited or pricey, here guests enjoy a wide range of delicious dishes from breakfast through dinner plus snacks and drinks throughout the day. Signature dishes like fish curry and grilled tiger prawns showcase local flavors, while a diverse mocktail menu elevates the experience. Being able to eat whatever and whenever you want enhances a feeling of indulgent freedom. Personalized service is also a key highlight; having a staff member dedicated to your group makes the stay more comfortable and attentive. For example, receiving motion sickness pills promptly before a sunset cruise highlights how detail-oriented the staff are toward guest needs. This level of care contributes significantly to the resort’s relaxing and hassle-free atmosphere. Overall, Kagi Resort is ideal for travelers looking to slow down and savor the beauty and water-based activities of the Maldives, without the crowds or noise from busy beach clubs. The blend of luxury, privacy, engaging activities, and warm hospitality creates a rejuvenating island escape. If you value these elements in your tropical vacation, Kagi offers a memorable and enriching experience.
