Face Merdian Treatment at JB
Started off with a very detailed scalp massage, which was honestly such a relaxing way to begin the session. She then moved on to cleansing my face before starting the bojin massage on my left side, focusing on the neck area to help with lymphatic drainage. She worked through each point on my face

Book Review: One Golden Summer
This book helped pull me out of a reading slump. The story was very easy to follow and light enough to simply enjoy. There also weren’t too many characters to keep track of, which I appreciated since I don’t read every day and sometimes forget who’s who. I especially enjoyed seeing Alice grow an

The best Duck Rice I have eaten in Kyoto! 🦆🍚
Went to Kyoto with my friends and decided to try this highly raved Gion duck rice. Surprisingly, the restaurant was empty when we entered at around 12nn. The staff were extremely friendly and spoke English well, which made the experience even more comfortable. We ordered the duck rice topped wit

Book review: A Song to Drown Rivers
I felt there wasn’t enough story built up to convincingly show the relationship between Xishi and Fanli. When they finally parted, the author listed many things Xishi would supposedly miss, yet these moments were never shown or developed earlier in the story, which made the emotions feel unearned.

25 Classes at Lab Studio - Was it worth it?
I wrote another post after completing 5 classes with labstudio, thought to write another to sum up my time there. After completing 25 classes for $450 package (about $18 per class), I’ve tried a good mix of sessions: Barre Signature, Burn & Stretch, Mat Pilates, and Lab Stretch. My usual wee

How I spent my Skillfuture Credits?
I signed up last minute for a mobile photography course last year using my skillfuture credits. I’ve always been the “just take and go” type when it comes to photos, without putting in much thought or effort. I enrolled in the course with my mum. It was a two-day course, running from 9am to 6pm

Book Review: The Passengers on the Hankyu Line
I first noticed this book at Kinokuniya a while back, where stacks of it were displayed right at the front of the bookstore. The cover caught my eye (yes, I judged the book by its cover), and that was what prompted me to pick it up. It’s a light-hearted and gentle read. Each chapter is written fro

Book Review: Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow
The idea behind the story was great, but I found myself feeling lost at several points. The chapters often flipped between backstory and the present without warning, and the sudden shifts in point of view were confusing at first. It was an interesting concept, but I almost didn’t have the patience

Day Trip to MuTianYu
We booked our Mutianyu Great Wall tour through Klook, with a scheduled meet-up at 7:30am on a weekday. Unfortunately, we were stuck in traffic and arrived very late — but thankfully, the guide was incredibly kind and allowed us to shift our tour to another day. When we finally went two days late

My honest review of the $300 basic hair bundle
I opted up for the $385 basic package and was assigned to Shawn as my hairstylist. I shared some of my concerns with him — my flat hair and a bit of grey hair. I even brought suggestions like going for a shoulder-length perm and colouring. Shawn gave me thoughtful recommendations, and I ended up tr

What did I ate in Beijing?
Sharing some of the delicious food I tried in Beijing — and the best part is, most of these are easy to find, so you don’t have to go out of your way to hunt them down! 1. Nanmen Shuarou (南门涮肉) There are plenty of outlets across Beijing, but their main branch just outside the Temple of Heaven.

Shopping in Beijing?
Beijing is full of charm and surprises at every corner. I spent about 3–4 days just wandering around and exploring different shopping areas — each with its own unique vibe and experience. 1. Wangfujing Street This is probably the most famous shopping street in Beijing, and for good reason. I

Book Review: A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOWAR)
I actually thought about DNF-ing this book several times. Because I took so many breaks in between, I ended up forgetting a lot of the characters’ names, which made it hard to recall who was connected to which backstory or event. I’ve grown to really dislike Nesta and Elain. They come across as

Reformer Pilates in Bali, Canggu
Tried out a Pilates Reformer class at Zycle in Bali on a last-minute whim. Booked through their app (Glofox) for about $19 SGD (1 hour class). The instructor guided us through beginner-friendly moves - simple, but I liked that we got to use both the reformer and wunda chair in a single session.

Barre Class Review: Lab Studios
1st Barre Class at Holland Village There were about 16 of us in the room, but it still felt spacious and comfortable (plus, it was nicely cooling). I liked how the workout flowed in a cycle — working one set on the right, then reversing to the left. The instructor used a speaker, so her cues were

During our recent trip to Ho Chi Minh City, my family and I decided to try the highly-rated The Lime Spa near Ben Thanh Market. Booking was straightforward—we made a reservation the day before, though note that a deposit is required, and payments are cash-only. Be sure to carry extra cash for all t
