Accumulate 10K followers on social media
This was a huge milestone for me in 2023. I reached 10k on YouTube this last summer and currently sit at 17,000. I started January 2023 with 1000 followers and that was after doing YouTube consistently for over two years. It’s a long journey but it’s been a fun one. Here’s to doing what you love and overcoming your own self doubts! If you really find joy in something- chase it. Check out my channel on YOUTUBE: HLANDER 🫶

Reaching my 10K YouTube milestone was truly surreal, and I know many of you are on your own journey to grow your channel! After hitting 17,000 followers, I've learned a few things I wish I knew when I first started. Here are my top tips for anyone on the road to 10K followers, based on my personal experience, and how I finally got to celebrate this amazing achievement! 1. Find Your Niche and Stay Authentic: Early on, I tried to do a bit of everything, which made it hard for new viewers to understand what my channel was about. Once I honed in on what truly brought me joy and what my audience resonated with – whether it’s travel adventures, healthy lifestyle tips, or sharing bucket list ideas – my growth accelerated. Don't be afraid to show your true self and let your personality shine through! People connect with authenticity, not perfection. Think about what makes you unique and lean into it. This foundational step is crucial for building a dedicated audience who will stick with you for the long haul on your YouTube journey. 2. Consistency is Key, But Don't Burn Out: This is probably the most repeated advice in content creation, but it's true! I aimed for a regular upload schedule, even if it was just once a week. This built anticipation among my viewers and signaled to the YouTube algorithm that I was an active creator. However, consistency absolutely doesn't mean sacrificing your mental health or video quality. If you need a break, take one. It's far better to upload quality content less frequently than to burn out trying to keep up with an impossible schedule. Finding a rhythm that works for you is paramount; remember, the road to 10K followers is a marathon, not a sprint. 3. Engage With Your Community: Your early followers are your biggest cheerleaders and some of your most valuable resources! Respond to comments, ask questions in your videos, and create a genuine dialogue. I found that actively engaging with my audience not only made them feel valued but also gave me incredible insights into what content they wanted to see next. Building a loyal community around your channel is crucial for sustained growth and can turn casual viewers into dedicated subscribers. Don't just talk at them; talk with them. 4. Optimize Your Videos for Search and Discovery: Even fantastic content needs to be discoverable! I started paying much more attention to my video titles, descriptions, and tags. Think like a viewer: what would you search for to find content like yours? Using relevant keywords naturally in your titles and descriptions can make a huge difference. And don't forget compelling thumbnails – they're like the cover of your book! A strong, clear, and intriguing thumbnail can greatly increase your click-through rate, drawing more people to your amazing videos from the search results and suggested videos. This was a game-changer for my channel's visibility. 5. Learn From Others and Collaborate: I spent a lot of time watching what other creators in my niche were doing, not to copy, but to understand what resonated with their audiences. I also reached out to other smaller creators for collaborations. Collaborating with others can introduce your channel to a brand new audience who might already be interested in your content style. It's a fantastic way to expand your reach and grow your subscriber base organically. Every small win, every new subscription, brought me closer to that 10K follower goal, and celebrating each milestone, big or small, kept me motivated throughout the entire process.
