When I was young, I always believed that as long as I worked hard enough, behaved well enough, and got good grades, someone would eventually notice my efforts. But as I grew older, I realised that sometimes, no matter how hard I tried, it still felt like I was never as good as everyone else.

When I was little, I was always trying to become the person adults wanted me to be. Be obedient. Be understanding. Always give in to my younger brother. It felt like if I could just be a little more obedient, a little more understanding, I would receive more love and approval. Growing up
