Watch this BEFORE you pay for Italo Club Executive.
I’ve taken Italo Club Executive a few times now… so here’s my honest take 👇
✔ More privacy than business class
✔ Dedicated luggage area
✔ Unlimited coffee, soft drinks, and snacks
✔ A simple meal service on longer routes
They’re also supposed to offer Prosecco or beer…
…but somehow every time I ask… “Mi dispiace, non ce l’abbiamo.” 😂
Traveling on Italy’s high-speed trains can be a memorable experience, especially when you upgrade to the Italo Club Executive class. From my multiple trips, I’ve found that while Italo Club Executive promises a premium journey, there are some noteworthy details that can help you decide if it’s worth it for your needs. One of the biggest advantages is the enhanced privacy. Unlike standard or business class, Club Executive cars take up about half an entire train car, giving you a quieter and more exclusive atmosphere. This significantly improves the travel experience, especially if you need to work or relax during the journey. Another great feature is the dedicated luggage area, which solves the common hassle of balancing bags overhead or under the seat. It's a convenience that I deeply appreciated, especially when traveling with larger suitcases. The unlimited coffee, soft drinks, and snacks are a nice touch and make the ride comfortable. The self-serve coffee machine available anytime was a personal highlight, as I could grab a fresh cup whenever I wanted without waiting for service. On longer routes, the simple meal service typically includes a sandwich. While it’s not gourmet dining, it provides enough to satisfy hunger without the need to pack extra food. However, it’s worth mentioning the recurring issue with the promised Prosecco or beer. Despite being part of the offering, my experience and that of many others has been that these beverages are often unavailable. If having an alcoholic drink is a dealbreaker for you, this is something to keep in mind. Comparing Italo Club Executive to Trenitalia Executive, you’ll find that while Italo feels more exclusive and quieter, the overall meal and drink offerings are more basic. That said, if your priority is a peaceful and comfortable ride with good amenities rather than fine dining, Italo Club Executive could be the better choice. For travelers seeking a balance between luxury and practicality on Italy’s impressive high-speed rail network, Italo Club Executive delivers on privacy, comfort, and convenience. Just be prepared for the occasional service hiccup and weigh its benefits against other premium options available on the same routes.
