God didn’t give me a job…He gave me a Calling

If you’ve ever questioned your purpose in the classroom—this is your reminder:

God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

As a first-year teacher, I’ve learned that it’s not about being perfect—it’s about showing up with purpose, grace, and bold faith.

This space is for the teachers who teach with heart, lead with love, and trust God every step of the way. ✝️

Let’s walk in our calling—together.

... Read moreWhen I first started searching for inspiration and validation, I often typed things like “teaching is a calling from God quotes” or “signs God is calling you to be a teacher” into Google. It’s easy to feel stretched thin in the classroom, especially as a first-year teacher. The initial excitement can quickly turn into moments of feeling overwhelmed by the sheer amount of planning, grading, and emotional labor involved. I remember countless nights questioning if I was genuinely cut out for this experience. Was it just a job, or was there something deeper? That’s when I truly started seeking out those signs and reaffirming quotes. For me, one of the clearest signs was an undeniable pull in my heart towards nurturing young minds, even when the daily grind was tough. It wasn't about being perfectly qualified; it was about the persistent desire to pour into students, to see them grow, and to believe in their potential. If you find yourself constantly thinking about how to improve a lesson, how to connect with a struggling student, or how to create a more supportive learning environment, even when you’re exhausted, that's a strong indicator that your passion runs deeper than just a paycheck. Another sign I learned to recognize was a sense of peace and purpose, even amidst the chaos. There were days I felt weak and inadequate, but a quiet conviction told me to keep showing up, to keep trying. This aligns perfectly with the idea that we are “equipped for every good work.” It’s not about our own strength, but about trusting that we are being prepared and empowered for the tasks set before us. I found immense comfort in quotes that reminded me God doesn’t call the qualified, but qualifies the called. This helped me release the pressure of perfection and instead focus on showing up with grace and bold faith, just as my original post mentioned. So, if you’re a first-year teacher (or any teacher, for that matter) feeling the weight of your role, remember to pause and reflect on those deeper stirrings. Do you believe in the profound impact you can make? Is there a persistent feeling that you are exactly where you need to be, despite the challenges? These aren't just random thoughts; they might just be the signs that God is indeed calling you to this incredible profession. Lean into that calling, and trust that you are being equipped every step of the way.
