I've found that healing is largely about choosing—choosing not to hold onto pain, even when old wounds or habits feel familiar. It means recognizing that "not everything you lost was meant to stay," and accepting loss as a step toward growth. One important aspect I've learned is how healing is about unlearning what once seemed normal but was actually harmful. For instance, habits or thought patterns that felt natural but were breaking you down silently. This process requires patience and kindness to oneself because it’s not about rushing or forcing a visible change but about quietly redirecting your mindset. Sometimes, healing involves moments where you consciously decide not to distract yourself with old pains or distractions and instead focus on what nurtures your wellbeing. This can mean setting boundaries, adopting self-care rituals, or simply allowing yourself the grace to feel at peace without external noise or validation.
