Ingredients:

- 4 1/2 cups of flour

- 1/4 cup of honey

- 1 tablespoon of active yeast

- 2 cups of warm water

- 2 teaspoons of salt

Directions:

01) In a bowl, whisk together yeast, water, and honey. Let it sit for about 10 minutes

02) Add in the flour, oil, and salt. Mix all together until the dough forms a ball.

03) Cover & let rise until it doubles in size

04) Cut the dough in half. Fold each dough and roll into a sausage shape.

05) Spray two baking dishes with oil. Put each dough into a baking dish. Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes

I remember my first few attempts weren't always perfect. That's why I wanted to share a few extra tips that have helped me turn this good recipe into the Best Sandwich Bread Recipe every single time. First off, let's talk about the yeast. That initial step where you whisk yeast, water, and honey and let it sit? This is crucial! You're looking for signs of life. After about 5-10 minutes, your mixture should look foamy and bubbly on top, almost like a thin beer head. If it doesn't, your yeast might be old, or your water wasn't quite warm enough (or too hot!). Aim for water that feels like a warm bath – around 105-115°F (40-46°C). This 'proofing' step ensures your bread will rise beautifully. When you're mixing the flour, oil, and salt, don't rush it. You want to mix until the dough just comes together into a shaggy ball, then turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Kneading is where the magic happens! For a truly soft and airy loaf, aim for about 8-10 minutes of kneading, either by hand or with a stand mixer. The dough should become smooth, elastic, and spring back when you gently poke it. This develops the gluten, which gives your bread its structure. The rising time (step 03) can vary depending on your kitchen's temperature. On a warm day, it might take only an hour or so. On a colder day, it could be 1.5-2 hours. To create a cozy environment, you can place the covered bowl in a slightly warm oven (turned off, of course!) with just the light on, or in a warm spot away from drafts.
