Tonight’s devotion (the urgency of giving)
Giving cheerfully is always better than receiving and the more we give the more God will bless us. This doesn’t always mean money and that doesn’t always mean that God is going to give you a financial breakthrough. What it means is that when we give (anything) out of the goodness of our hearts God will bless us with the will and urgency to want to keep giving and like I said, giving is always way better than receiving.
In 2 Corinthians 9:7, it emphasizes that 'each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.' This verse encapsulates the essence of giving from a place of joy rather than obligation. The act of giving is not limited to financial contributions; it encompasses sharing time, love, and support with others. When we approach giving with a cheerful heart, we create an atmosphere of kindness and positivity that reverberates within our communities. Moreover, giving leads to personal growth and fulfillment. Studies have shown that acts of kindness can increase overall happiness and build stronger connections among individuals. As we navigate life, the urgency to give may stem from a desire to impact those around us and fulfill our spiritual obligations. Engaging in acts of generosity can also inspire others to do the same, leading to a ripple effect of goodwill.
