MINECRAFT HARDCORE
I just needed ONE villager to do his job… but of course Minecraft had other plans 😭
This turned into one of the most chaotic moments in my hardcore world — glitches, resistance, and me losing patience.
Did I go too far… or was this justified? 💀
Watch till the end because it somehow gets worse 💀

Okay, so we've all been there, right? That moment when you just need a villager to cooperate, especially a novice one, and they decide to be the most stubborn block-person in your entire Minecraft world. My recent chaotic encounter, which involved me literally having to 'HAD TO USE FORCE ON THIS VILLAGER,' really made me reflect on the trials and tribulations of villager management, especially in a Hardcore setting where every trade counts. So, what exactly is a novice villager? Generally, it's a villager who hasn't picked a profession yet, or one who is at the lowest trading tier (Novice Level 1). They're crucial because they're your blank canvas – you can assign them a job that gives you the trades you desperately need, like Mending books from a librarian, or steady food supplies from a farmer. The OCR text from my image even referenced 'Farmer - Novice Level 1 - Novice Level 2,' showing that progression is key. The challenge often begins when they just won't take that job. You place a composter for a farmer, a lectern for a librarian, or a fletching table for a fletcher, and they just... stare. Or worse, they wander off! In Hardcore, time is of the essence, and you can’t afford to waste days trying to coax a digital person into employment. This is where 'force' sometimes comes into play, not out of malice, but out of absolute necessity for survival. I've found a few tricks that often help. Firstly, ensure the job site block is accessible and within a reasonable distance from the villager. Sometimes, they need a direct path. If they’re reluctant, try breaking and replacing the job block. This can sometimes reset their AI and make them re-evaluate their surroundings. Another common strategy is to enclose them in a small area with the job block, effectively forcing them to acknowledge it. I’ve definitely spent my fair share of time pushing villagers with temporary blocks, or even using water streams, just to get them into the right spot. It feels a bit like a mini-game itself, doesn't it? Once they finally take a job, the next hurdle is getting those initial trades done to level them up. The 'Take Half Take Quick Move' options are vital for cycling through trades and finding those golden ones. For a farmer, trading crops like wheat, carrots, or potatoes can quickly level them up, granting access to more valuable trades like golden carrots or even enchanted hoes. These trades are invaluable for sustaining yourself in a Hardcore world, ensuring you have enough food and resources to keep going. My advice for anyone struggling with novice villagers in Hardcore is this: plan your villager trading hall carefully, understand their mechanics (like proximity to beds and job blocks), and don’t be afraid to be a little 'persuasive' when needed. It might be chaotic, and you might lose a little patience, as I did, but the rewards of a thriving villager trading system are absolutely worth the ordeal. After all, a little 'force' can go a long way when your Hardcore life depends on it!
