MY 3 BEDSIDE NURSING TIPS 🩺
As a full time night shift nurse, comfort is key for those long shifts!
My 3 bedside nursing tips are:
•Invest into comfy sneakers that support your feet throughout the 12 hour shift. My go-to sneakers are my Hoka Clifton 9’s because they give me support, while being lightweight and durable. Yes, they are a little pricy costing around $120, but totally worth it!
•Don’t forget to take your PTO. The best part about working bedside is the flexible schedule.. use & abuse it! As you can see for my April schedule the dotted days are personal PTO days. I am moving to a new apartment so needed some time to get everything situated!
•And, most importantly make time for yourself during your shift. Whether thats going for a walk, reading a book, or watching your favorite show - you deserve to decompress even if it’s just for a few minutes!
I find that when I utilize these 3 tips that my overall physical/mental well being is better and when I don’t the burnout is just that much worse. What’s your most vital bedside nursing tip?
