Triceps Routine 🔥🔥🔥

... Read moreHey everyone! 👋 If you're anything like me, you're always looking for ways to really sculpt and define those triceps. They make up about two-thirds of your upper arm, so strong triceps aren't just for show – they're crucial for pushing movements and overall arm strength! I've been experimenting with my workouts to target all 'tricep parts' for a balanced look, and I want to share some insights to help you get that 'try shape workout' you're aiming for. First, let's quickly touch on the anatomy. Your triceps have three heads: the long head, the lateral head, and the medial head. To truly shape your arms, it's important to incorporate exercises that hit each one. My routine, featuring exercises like Reverse Skull Crusher, Kickbacks, Regular Skull Crusher, and Crush Press, is designed to do just that. Let's dive into some of these moves and how they contribute: Skull Crushers (Regular and Reverse): Both the Regular Skull Crusher and Reverse Skull Crusher are fantastic for targeting the long head of the triceps, which gives your arm that impressive hang. I aim for 20 reps 3x for a deep burn. The reverse grip can sometimes feel a bit different, hitting the lateral head more, which helps with overall thickness. Proper form is key here – keep those elbows stable! Kickbacks: When I do Kickbacks for 20 reps 3x, I really focus on squeezing at the top. This exercise is great for isolating the lateral and medial heads, giving you that horseshoe shape. It's less about moving heavy weight and more about control and contraction. Crush Press: This movement, where you press dumbbells together as you perform a close-grip bench press, is a fantastic compound movement. It works all three heads of the triceps while also engaging your chest. I typically do 20 reps 3x to really fatigue the muscles after the isolation work. Now, a common question I get asked is: 'Do skull crushers and kickbacks work the same?' While both are amazing triceps exercises, they actually target your muscles differently. Skull crushers are a fantastic mass builder, allowing you to move heavier weight and put a lot of tension on the long head. They're performed lying down, providing more stability. Kickbacks, on the other hand, are an isolation exercise, often done with lighter weights, focusing on peak contraction and hitting the lateral/medial heads effectively. They require more core stability and control. So, no, they don't work the same, and incorporating both gives you a more complete triceps workout! And what about the Triceps French Press? I love this one too! While not in my daily go-to, I often swap it in or add it to really hit the long head. The French press, especially the overhead variation, puts a massive stretch on the long head, promoting growth and definition. You can do it seated, standing, or lying down with dumbbells or a cable. It’s an excellent way to add variety and ensure you're constantly challenging your triceps from different angles. To see real results with any tricep workout, consistency and progressive overload are your best friends. Don't be afraid to gradually increase your reps, sets, or the weight you're lifting. Remember, strong triceps not only look great but also support your other pushing movements in the gym. Save this routine and give it a try – you'll be amazed at the pump and the results!
