Summer is the perfect time to encourage kids to explore their creativity and get outside. One of my favorite activities inspired by the content is using the STEAM Skillmatics Magical Sun Art kit. This creative set includes over 50 stencils, magical sun paper, colorful markers, and even googly eyes to bring art to life in a unique way. What I love most about this activity is how it combines art, science, and nature. Kids place the stencils on special magical paper and let it sit in the sun. The sunlight triggers colorful patterns and reveals the art in a surprising and magical way. It’s a fun STEM learning opportunity that introduces concepts like sunlight exposure and color change. To make the experience even better, I take my kids outside to a sunny spot in our backyard or a nearby park. Watching their excitement as their designs come to life under the sun is priceless. Plus, this activity keeps them engaged and reduces screen time—a win for any parent! If you want to extend the fun, try creating themed art projects, like summer animals or nature scenes, to spark their imagination. Another idea is to combine this with outdoor scavenger hunts or nature walks, where kids can collect natural materials to add to their artwork later at home. Overall, activities like Magical Sun Art are fantastic for summer because they are hands-on, educational, and encourage outdoor play. Parents looking for creative, enriching ways to entertain their children during the warmer months should definitely give this a try.
