The Best Things to do on The Big Island- Part 2
1. **Go Snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay:** To reach this bay, I highly recommend renting a kayak from Bayside Adventures. Paddle your way across the bay to experience the vibrant coral reefs and colorful marine life. Don’t forget to arrive 30 minutes before high tide for the clearest water! 🐠✨
2. **Go to Mauna Kea at Sunset:** Witnessing the sunset from the summit of Mauna Kea is a must-do. You can drive up to the Visitor Information Station (VIS) and take a break (we did an hour-long break) to acclimate to the altitude change. Make sure you make note of that time when planning to get up about 15-30 minutes before sunset! From there, a 4x4 vehicle is required to reach the summit. The view from above the clouds is truly magical and an unforgettable experience. Remember to dress warmly as temperatures drop significantly at the summit. 🌅
3. **Try a Lava Flow:** After a day full of adventures, treat yourself to a delicious Lava Flow cocktail at the Beach Tree Bar and Restaurant at the Four Seasons. This tropical drink, with its blend of strawberry, coconut, and pineapple, is the perfect way to relax and unwind while enjoying the beautiful beachfront setting. 🍹
From snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay to capturing the magic of a Mauna Kea sunset and savoring a tropical Lava Flow, the Big Island offers unforgettable experiences. Follow for more travel tips and adventures! 🌴✈️
