Sometimes I wish I was ignorant to certain things. But at the same time no, I love the knowledge I have and I’m able to make changes #fyp #relatable #publichealth #publichealthcrisis
Having pursued a degree in public health, I often find myself caught between the weight of the knowledge I've gained and the emotional toll it can take. There have been moments when I wish I were less aware of the myriad health crises affecting communities globally, simply to avoid the sadness or frustration that comes with that awareness. Yet, at the same time, this knowledge empowers me to advocate for change and improve public health outcomes, which I find deeply rewarding. The degree equips you with an understanding of how social determinants, policy, and education intersect to influence health on a broad scale. Despite occasional regrets about the emotional burden, the ability to contribute positively keeps me motivated. Public health is not just about statistics or disease prevention; it encompasses human stories and systemic challenges that demand empathy and action. If you're considering or currently studying public health, it's normal to experience mixed feelings. Balancing the emotional impact with a commitment to making a difference can be challenging but fulfilling. Embracing both the regrets and the appreciation for the knowledge gained can lead to a more resilient and impactful career in public health.
