... Read moreLosing over 100 pounds is truly a life-changing journey, but it's important to recognize that success involves much more than just dropping the numbers on the scale. One key insight I’ve gained is that while your body can transform relatively quickly, your mind and self-perception often take longer to catch up. Some days, even after significant weight loss, I still saw myself as the person I was before. It takes continued effort to reset your mental image and embrace your new self. Another reality is that shedding pounds doesn’t automatically fix all areas of life. While weight loss can improve physical health and energy levels, emotional healing and confidence require ongoing work and self-compassion. Many people underestimate how much patience and determination are needed for mental and emotional growth alongside physical changes. Progress is rarely a straight path. There will be plateaus, setbacks, and moments when quitting feels tempting. I found that acknowledging these challenges without judgment helped me stay on course. Celebrating small wins and remembering how far I’d come made all the difference in pushing through difficult days. People often notice your physical transformation first, but the biggest changes happen internally. I experienced newfound freedom and confidence, allowing me to show up authentically in ways I never could before. This internal shift is one of the most rewarding parts of a weight loss journey. Lastly, the best decision I made was refusing to give up—even when progress was slow or imperfect. Consistency over time, fueled by many small positive choices, ultimately rewired my life. For anyone starting or in the middle of their own journey, remember that every step forward counts. Slow progress is still progress, and future you will be grateful that you kept going.
