rip 😭 why is grieving so hard

#storytime #lemon8contest

i was a bit hesitant about posting this but i found this is the one place i can be real and have substance but this grief thing is difficult. there are days where i am fine but there are days where all i can think about is my poor grandma and how she left me so soon.

she passed away of complications from cancer on my 19th birthday this year. things just don’t go the way you plan. regardless love you forever grandma 🥺💞

... Read moreGrieving is a universal experience that can be profoundly challenging, often manifesting in unexpected ways. When we lose someone, particularly a family member like a grandparent, the emotional toll can be overwhelming. In this context, understanding the stages of grief—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance—can provide valuable insights into our feelings and reactions. Many people find it difficult to express their grief, leading to feelings of isolation. Sharing your experiences, whether through writing, talking with friends, or joining support groups, can help in navigating these painful emotions. Maintaining memories and traditions can also serve as a healing mechanism, allowing us to honor our loved ones while facing our own sorrow. Remember, it's okay not to be okay; allowing oneself to feel and process grief is essential for healing. Additionally, seeking professional help from a therapist experienced in grief counseling can provide support and coping strategies tailored to your unique experience. They can help you work through the complexities of your feelings and assist in finding ways to celebrate the life of your loved one moving forward.

Grieving the loss of someone who’s still alive
Losing someone important to you due to their own choices can be one of the most difficult experiences any human could endure. The sheer part of letting go is the hardest. Why would you let go of someone that’s still there? Doesn’t that show YOU’VE given up? Or maybe you agree to the choice as well?

You think you’re ANGRY. But you’re grieving 🤔
Underneath anger… there’s always grief. And no one ever taught you how to tell the difference. You weren’t “too emotional.” You were grieving. And no one noticed. They said you had “anger issues.” But no one ever asked what your rage was protecting. No one ever saw the child in the fire.

This grief does not mean you are weak. When you lose a partner, spouse, or soulmate, your entire nervous system shifts. The tight chest. The brain fog. The waves of panic. The exhaustion. That is not weakness. That is a body trying to recalibrate after love has been torn from its daily rhythm
