Must- see’s at Arches National Park!

Here are some of my favorite must-see’s at Arches National Park, in Moab Utah!

1.) Double Arch - I was blown away by how cool this was. Plus you can go climb up in it for some more cool views!

2.) Balanced Rock - This is one of the first features of the park you see when coming in and was our first stop! Has some great views of the surrounding landscape.

3.) Turret Arch - This arch is located within walking distance of Windows Arch and is so cool! I loved how we were able to climb up on it.

4.) - Of course, Delicate Arch. What is a trip to Arches without stopping at one of the most iconic arches in the world? It’s a bit of a hike to reach it though, about 1.5 miles uphill without much shade, but totally worth it!!

Hope this helps you with your next trip to Arches!

Arches National Park
2024/1/16 Edited to

... Read moreHey fellow explorers! After my incredible trip to Arches National Park, I wanted to share some extra tips to make your visit even more epic. While the original post highlights the absolute must-sees like Double Arch, Balanced Rock, Turret Arch, and the iconic Delicate Arch, there's so much more to know to fully enjoy your Utah adventure. For anyone planning 'things to do in Utah,' Arches is definitely a highlight! To make the most of your time here, consider visiting early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the intense midday heat, especially during summer. Trust me, the sun can be brutal, and those 1.5 miles uphill to Delicate Arch feel much longer without shade! Always pack plenty of water – more than you think you'll need – and wear sturdy hiking shoes. The trails can be rocky and uneven. Speaking of the arches, let's dive a little deeper into some of my favorites. You mentioned Double Arch, and I completely agree, it's mind-blowing! What made it extra special for me was actually getting to walk right up underneath it and explore its massive scale. It's relatively easy to access, making it a great first stop for families or those looking for less strenuous exploration. The sheer size of the openings makes you feel incredibly small, in the best way! Balanced Rock is another gem, and like the original post says, it's one of the first features you see. It's a quick, easy loop trail, perfect for stretching your legs and getting some panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. I’d recommend hitting it at sunrise or sunset for some truly magical photo opportunities – the way the light hits that precarious formation is unforgettable. Turret Arch, close to the Windows Section, is fascinating. I loved how you could climb up near it. Don't miss exploring the North Window and South Window right next to it – it’s a whole complex of stunning formations that really showcase the park’s beauty. It’s an easy, flat walk that offers incredible views and lots of spots for unique photos. And of course, Delicate Arch. It's the symbol of Utah for a reason! That 1.5-mile hike, while challenging, delivers one of the most rewarding views I’ve ever experienced. My advice? Start early if you're going for sunrise, or plan for sunset to see its sandstone glow. Be prepared for crowds, but don't let that deter you; the feeling of standing before it is truly humbling. You might be wondering about other arches, like Landscape Arch. While not explicitly mentioned in the main post, it's another incredible formation in the Devil's Garden area, known for being one of the longest natural arches in the world! It has undergone significant natural changes over time, including collapses that have reshaped its delicate form – a testament to the ever-evolving nature of these geological wonders. It's a reminder that these magnificent structures are constantly changing, which is why visiting them is so special. Finally, for any photography enthusiasts, bring a wide-angle lens for those expansive shots and a zoom for details. And remember, leave no trace – help keep Arches beautiful for everyone. Happy trails!
