Reflecting on personal experiences of overcoming hardship has truly helped me appreciate the importance of focusing on one's own growth and self-worth. Many times, I noticed that those who tried to bring me down were often struggling internally, battling insecurities and pain that they projected onto others. Recognizing that misery seeks company made it easier for me not to take their negativity personally. Throughout my journey, acknowledging the abuse or neglect I faced was tough, but it also became a catalyst for change. I learned that resilience is not about avoiding difficulties but about how you respond and grow from them. Building peace within myself required conscious effort—practicing self-care, setting boundaries, and surrounding myself with positive influences who genuinely supported my growth. One of the most valuable lessons I embraced is that the worth of my life cannot be measured by anyone else's standards or criticisms. The peace, growth, and self-respect I worked so hard to develop can never be diminished by external negativity. Instead of bitterness, I chose gratitude—for the strength gained, the lessons learned, and the person I have become. This mindset shift transformed my outlook and daily life.
