Happy Father’s Day to My Favorite ‘Fin Fan!!
Having an active father isn’t a gift that everyone has, so I am super blessed that God blessed me with one.
Here are a few movies that remind me of my dad and our relationship through the years! ❤️
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
1. Movie: Fatherhood
How to Watch: Netflix
This movie is all about a dad trying his best to figure it out for his daughter, it’s light hearted, real, and comical.
Which, I believe, is truly the essence of a high quality father daughter relationship. Maybe a little too real at times now that I am older, but I know it’s coming from a good place 😅
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
2. Movie: Pursuit of Happyness
How to Watch: Netflix?
I love seeing Will in father roles, he really embodies them so well! I threw this one in because I am sure we watched it together at least once, and it’s a classic father focused movie.

3. King Richard
How to Watch: HBO Max (formerly Max, formerly formerly HBO Max IYKYK lol)
I loved the perspective they took on this, and how it focused on their dad’s point of view. The film really depicted the love, dedication, and sacrifices made to help ensure his children’s’ success.
What stood out to me the most was the scene where Richard spoke up for Venus during an interview when she was young.
My Dad doesn’t play about me, or how he would say it “won’t take any crap!” I am sure there is some other language he uses but this is what he says to me 😆

4. The Game Plan
How To Watch: Disney +
This is a throwback because The Rock doesn’t look like this anymore! But this was such a cute movie about a father literally having no clue what he was doing but finding a way, albeit unique way, to get the job done.
It was beautiful seeing their relationship develop from strangers to family.
My dad and I used to watch this, and I always thought it was a cool way for us to bond when we were young because it dealt with football (which he loves and grew to enjoy more) and a Disney movie (which I love).
Retrospectively, it highlights how my dad also had to balance being strict with also being gentle, and the film showed how tricky that could be.
It also helped provide insight into what each other was thinking and why.
All in all, these remind me that my dad and I just have pray and hope for the best, then let God do the rest - Happy Father’s Day!! 🥹🤞🏾❤️
Father's Day is a special occasion to honor and appreciate the unique bond between fathers and their children. If you're looking for ways to celebrate this day, consider a movie marathon featuring films that showcase the different facets of fatherhood. Films like 'Fatherhood' starring Kevin Hart explore the comedic yet heartfelt challenges of parenting. It reminds us that being a dad comes with its trials, filled with both laughter and lessons, making it a great choice for family viewing. 'Pursuit of Happyness’ is another excellent pick, as it portrays the true story of resilience between a father and his son. Will Smith shines in this inspiring role, emphasizing the lengths a father will go for his child’s success. Don’t forget 'King Richard', chronicling the journey of Venus and Serena Williams under the watchful eye of their father. This film beautifully illustrates the dedication and sacrifices fathers make to help shape their children’s futures. Finally, consider 'The Game Plan', a light-hearted comedy featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson that offers an amusing perspective on fatherhood.
