My body is done, but retirement isn't paying the bills.

I've been grooming dogs for so long, my back and feet are begging me to retire before I can.

I used to think being exhausted was normal.

Standing all day.

Lifting dogs.

Bending over tubs.

Going home sore every single night.

Then getting up and doing it all over again the next day.

For years, I told myself this was just life.

Work.

Pay bills.

Be tired.

Repeat.

But lately, I've been asking myself a hard question...

How much longer can my body keep doing this?

Because the truth is, I don't want to spend the next 10 years counting down to my next day off while my back reminds me of every dog I've ever groomed.

I love helping people and their pets.

What I don't love is feeling like my income disappears the second I stop working.

As a mom, I want more than survival mode.

I want choices.

I want freedom.

I want time.

And I know I'm not the only woman sitting at work wondering if there's another way.

If you're tired of working yourself into the ground just to make ends meet, comment "READY" below. ❤️

... Read moreWorking in a physically taxing job like dog grooming can leave lasting effects on your body, as many of us know firsthand. I’ve experienced those sore backs and aching feet after long shifts, and it’s tough to imagine continuing that routine without feeling completely drained. What resonates most is the struggle of loving your work—helping pets and their owners—while facing the harsh reality that the income stops when your body can no longer keep up. Like many working moms, I’ve found myself caught between the desire for financial security and the need for physical and mental freedom. Surviving paycheck to paycheck while juggling household responsibilities can feel like an endless cycle of exhaustion. It’s in this space that the idea of a side hustle or alternative income becomes not just appealing, but necessary. For those in similar situations, exploring ways to make money from home or on your phone can open doors to flexibility and choice. This could mean tapping into online businesses, remote freelance work, or launching small ventures that fit around your life and physical capabilities. The key is finding options that don’t require the strenuous physical toll but still provide meaningful income. One important takeaway is that you’re not alone in feeling stuck—many women are searching for a way out of survival mode. Creating a support network or engaging with communities focusing on side hustles, mompreneurs, or financial independence can be empowering, helping you gain ideas and encouragement. Ultimately, it’s about owning your story, acknowledging your limits, and actively seeking solutions that align with the life you want to live. The journey towards more freedom, time, and financial stability takes courage but can transform your daily experience from exhaustion to empowerment. If you’re ready to break the cycle of being physically worn out but financially tethered, sharing your readiness and exploring new income avenues can be the first step toward a better balance and a healthier future.
