From my experience playing tennis over the years, I’ve noticed that a senior serve can often suffer due to changes in strength and flexibility. One thing that really helped me was focusing on technique rather than raw power. Starting with a smooth and consistent toss improved my timing drastically. I also incorporated stretching routines to maintain shoulder mobility, which made a noticeable difference. Another helpful tip is to work on your rhythm and breathing during the serve. Sometimes the pressure to deliver a strong serve can make you tense, reducing effectiveness. I found that visualizing the ball placement and aiming for specific target zones on the opponent’s service box helped me regain control and precision. Lastly, experimenting with spin—like adding some slice or topspin—can make your serve more unpredictable and tougher to return. Keep practicing these adjustments regularly, mixing them into your serves during matches to build confidence.
