... Read moreAs a junior preparing for the SAT, I completely understand how your brain can trick you into feeling like you’re not making progress, even when the data says otherwise. At one point, I found myself constantly rereading passages because I feared I’d missed something crucial. However, this just increased my anxiety and wasted precious time. What truly helped me was learning to trust my initial understanding. If your first read feels clear, don’t second-guess yourself — this can prevent unnecessary stress and help maintain focus. Another lifesaver was capping my daily study time to 90 minutes. It might seem counterintuitive, but shorter, focused sessions were far more productive than long, anxious stretches. This approach helped me avoid burnout and kept my motivation high throughout the week. Also, using tools like Lumist’s AI tutor to track accuracy was incredibly reassuring. Seeing my 88% accuracy reflected in the data helped calm my panicked thoughts and gave me objective feedback on my skills. Remember, your mind might spiral with negative thoughts like "I'm bad at everything," but trusted data counters these by showing your real progress. This mindset shift played a big role in my journey, leading me from a 920 to a 1500 SAT score without any panic attacks during prep. Let the numbers be your friend, girlies, and don’t let anxiety derail your success. Focus on quality over quantity and trust yourself — your progress is happening, even if your brain tries to convince you otherwise.
