Girls Weekend with High Tea in a VINTAGE train

Can you believe the idea for our much needed girls weekend away started almost 5 years ago during my overnight stay in a caboose at @rmeo.sf !?
Yes! While there they shared they may be acquiring a vintage 1899 dinning car for dinners/teas and I was sold!
The monthly afternoon teas are VERY popular and sell out quickly. (The next one on Sept 28th is already sold out).
An incredibly unique experience I suggest visiting the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario’s website so you can mark your calendars to stay in the loop to book!
Girls Weekend Away Itinerary:
Things to do:
1. Visit the @rmeo.sf where they have events and experiences such as:
• High Tea in the Dining Car
• Sleep in a caboose! (Yes an authentic vintage caboose)
• Join for The Hallow’s Express! A magical wizarding event
• Visit their dental car and more!
2. Saturday morning yoga on the secret island with @thehealingnook_333 . This FREE event takes place Saturdays throughout the summer. (donations accepted which are distributed back to the community.)
3. Enjoy kayak and / or paddle boarding with @pedalpaddlesf along the Rideau Canal (kayaks can even go through the locks for a truly unique experience!)
4. Cocktails and live music (and we even saw a drag show) @sfbowies
Places to eat:
1. Brunch at @cesttoutbakery (patio is dog 🐕 friendly)
2. Dinner in a converted bank at @thevaulteatery (yes they still have their vault which they use for storage)
3. Lunch/Dinner at Yuki Hana Sushi - the most delicious sushi 🍱 place (Chef Ryan has displayed his talents in L.A. , Chicago and Toronto!)
5. Cocktails, apps and live music at @lockmasterstaphouse (loved the canal views)

1. Antiquing at @thenewoldtown
2. Thrift shopping at Twice is Nice.
3. Shop the numerous cute stores on the newly and beautifully redone main strip of @experiencesmithsfalls

1. We found a pet friendly Victorian era home on Airbnb . Just steps from downtown Smiths Falls the Victorian era design aligned perfectly with the theme of our high tea outing which we loved !

For those who love the outdoors, taking a morning yoga class on the secret island provided a peaceful way to start the day, surrounded by nature's beauty. Later, renting kayaks or paddleboards to explore the Rideau Canal and even navigate through the locks was an adventurous twist we all loved. Foodies will appreciate the local dining options ranging from brunch at a dog-friendly bakery patio to sushi crafted by a chef with international experience. The vaulted bank-turned-restaurant and lively places with live music ensure there's always a vibrant atmosphere after a day of exploring. Smiths Falls also delights with its shopping scene. Antiquing treasures and thrift store finds along the newly revitalized main street made for some retail therapy amid the charming small-town vibe. We stayed in a lovely Victorian-era home via Airbnb, which perfectly matched the vintage aesthetics of the train experience and allowed our furry friends to join in the fun. Overall, this trip blends unique historical experiences with active and relaxing moments, making it a perfect girls’ weekend destination that balances nostalgia, adventure, and local culture.
