Deleting social media

Random thoughts:

I deleted facebook, Snapchat and instagram and I feel like it is the best decision I have ever made. It has really opened my eyes and helped me see the bigger picture (my family) better. I am so thankful that I was able to go cold turkey as some would say and I don’t miss it one bit. It did nothing but distract and cause trouble. I am free and able to focus on me now 🙏🙏🙏 lemon 8 is one of the apps I kept and so glad I did #BetterMe #socialmedia #Lemon8 #womanempowerment #changeyourlife#family #betterlife #focusonyourself #refreshed #powerful

... Read moreIt's true, hitting that 'delete' button can feel monumental, almost like cutting off a part of your daily routine. But after my own journey of deleting Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, I've realized it's more like shedding a heavy burden. Many of you might be wondering, 'Is deleting all social media accounts really worth it?' From my experience, it absolutely can be. Before I took the plunge, I felt constantly overwhelmed, comparing my life to perfectly curated feeds, and spending hours scrolling without really gaining anything. The decision to step away, much like the 'deleting social media' text I saw overlaid on my image, marked a significant turning point for me. One of the biggest concerns people have, and something I considered too, is how it will affect their connections. Will friends forget about you? Will you miss out on important events? And yes, for some, the query 'will deleting my social media make my ex miss me' might pop up – which really speaks to a deeper desire for connection and impact. While I can't promise an ex will come running back, I can tell you that my genuine relationships have flourished. I’ve found that true friends make an effort to connect in real life or through calls, not just likes or fleeting comments online. It's about prioritizing quality interactions over the sheer quantity of digital acquaintances. If you're considering 'deleting your social media,' here’s what I learned. First, don't feel pressured to delete everything at once. Maybe start with a digital detox for a week or two, or pick the app that causes you the most stress and start there. For me, going cold turkey felt right, but everyone's journey is different. I chose to keep Lemon8 because it offered a different kind of interaction – more focused on positive sharing and discovery, without the same level of pressure or endless comparison that other platforms brought. This selective approach can be a great way to ease into a healthier digital life. Secondly, prepare for the void. You’ll suddenly find yourself with so much free time! This is a golden opportunity to rediscover hobbies, read actual books, spend quality time with family (like I did), or simply enjoy quiet moments of reflection. It’s a chance to truly focus on yourself and your well-being, aspects that the constant digital noise often drowns out. The initial days can be challenging, with phantom phone vibrations and the automatic urge to check your apps. But push through! I promise, the mental clarity, reduced anxiety, and profound sense of peace that follow are incredible rewards. Instead of passively consuming, I'm now actively living and creating. My advice? Try it for a month. See how you feel. You might be surprised at how much brighter and more present your world becomes when you decide to step away from the endless scroll and truly embrace your own path.

I did the same for years and it was the best feeling ever! That I forgot about social media until someone asked for my social media account 😂! I was able to get close to God and focus on the present moment 🥰❤️

Why I’m slowly deleting my Social medias
Social media has been a big part of my life since a very young age. As I’m sure it has been also for most of you. I miss when it didn’t feel like a necessity. I miss when I could just post silly pictures for the fun of it and not feel judged or the need to be perfect. I’ve learned that no matter

✨Honestly I got ride of it for personal reasons. Me as a person idk why I used to always feel like I’m in competition with people on social media even if I didn’t know them in person. So deleting these social medias honestly helped me focus on me🫶🏼. It’s like a getting to know yourself experience.
