Proverbs 27-29 Bible study
Here’s what I learned in proverbs 27-29
(Sorry for the late post. I’ve been sooooo busy!)

• do not boast out of your own mouth, let other people boast about you
• it is better to be corrected than to not be corrected at all
• those seeking for something will find sweetness in sin. They will say “but this is fun”
• don’t go telling/boasting that you helped someone who needed your help. Be humble
• what you have in your heart will reflect in how you talk, and act.
• make sure things are in order. You never know when you will fall.
• if anyone causes a righteous person to stumble they will also fall into their own pit
• find people who you can talk to, so that you may confess your sins and be able to rebuke/renounce them.
• work hard. Don’t just fantasize about money, and what could be.
• trust in the Lord
• a lot of men today are destroying their wealth in strip clubs, bars & clubs. (29:3)
Proverbs chapters 27-29 offer timeless wisdom for navigating life. One key teaching is the importance of humility; it's better to let others praise you than to boast of yourself. This aligns with the common saying that pride comes before a fall (Proverbs 16:18). In these chapters, the contrast between the righteous and the wicked is evident. The righteous are depicted as being prudent and aware of their surroundings, while the foolish ignore wise counsel and face the consequences of their actions. Another notable lesson is found in Proverbs 27:17, which states, 'As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.' This highlights the significance of surrounding ourselves with wise and encouraging friends. Furthermore, Proverbs 28 talks about the struggles of the wicked versus the blessings of living with integrity. Wealth acquired through dishonest means leads to ruin, while those who live righteously will see their lives flourish despite external circumstances. A potent correction in these verses is aimed at leaders; they must govern with fairness or risk leading their people astray. Lastly, the wisdom encapsulated in Proverbs encourages proactive living, stating that 'the one who works his land will have plenty of food, but whoever chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.' This reminds us of the need for diligence and hard work in all our endeavors, urging us to trust in the Lord for our guidance and provision. Overall, Proverbs 27-29 provides a treasure trove of practical advice and spiritual insights that remain relevant in today's world, guiding individuals towards a life of purpose and righteousness.
