8km Wildlife & Scenery Hike @ Sungei Buloh 👟☘️
The most wildlife scenic nature attraction place with iconic pods structure in Singapore, and very near to Johor Bahru...
From Kranji MRT, walk out to the bus stop and take bus 925, alight at the stop: Kranji Reservoir Carpark B.
From the bus stop, walk out to the main road, cross the traffic light to the opposite which is the Entrance gate. Head straight to the Visitor Centre.
There are restrooms and vending machines at the Visitor Centre. From here, begin to walk along the Coastal Trail. Soon you will see the first Fantail Pod, climb up the circular stairs to the top for photo-taking. The internal Pod is attractive for its unique architectural design. You can capture a stunning photo from a low angle to the surroundings with the accompanied clear blue sky.
Continue down the route to Eagle Point, which leads to the next Eagle Pod. Walk through the winding wooden boardwalk to the pod to enjoy a wide panoramic scenic coastal view of the Johor Strait.
Thereafter, begin the journey into the Mangrove Boardwalk to experience the deep mangrove swamp in the lush forest.
Head forward to the Kingfisher Pod. I got to spot Grey Herons and a Crocodile slowly crawling out of the water.
Next is passing past the Mudskipper Pod, this is the area where you can explore and oversee the interesting mudflats and mudskippers.
Lastly is the Mud Experience Dragonfly Pod. You will walk past the calming dragonfly pond, then to the open pod area ahead.
After the Dragonfly Pod, walk out to the Neo Tiew Carpark and start entering the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Etiquette.
From the Wetland Centre, walk towards the Main Bridge of Sungei Buloh. While walking on the forested path, there are Observation Screens from 1 to 12 for visitors to look out to the birdies, herons and mudskipper etc. on the mudflats at different directions. On the way, I also got to spot 2 Monitor Lizards, 1 static and the other 1 huge one crawling in the bushes.
Sooner at one corner, there is the Aerie Tower observation deck. As it was about to start raining hence did not climb up to the top.
From the Tower, walk out some distance of the forested path to the Wetland Centre, then out the main road back to the Visitor Centre. Eventually to end the trail journey at the initial bus stop and wait for bus 925 to Woodlands or Choa Chu Kang Interchange.
