Even everyday things like cursing, as Ephesians 5:4 warns against, can become a habit when we forget the power of our words and the call to build others up. I also remember looking into things like zodiac signs (Jeremiah 27:9) in my younger days, seeking guidance from them instead of fully trusting God's plan – a classic example of rejecting divine knowledge for worldly substitutes. And honestly, being afraid to tell people about Jesus (Romans 1:16) can sometimes come from a lack of confidence in our faith or a misunderstanding of the Gospel's power, rather than just shyness. Even pointless arguing (2 Timothy 2:23-24), which can be so divisive, often happens when we prioritize winning over seeking understanding or peace. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 beautifully reminds us, 'Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.'
