🍋Stop your ADHD burnout cycle now!

5/7 Edited to

... Read moreLiving with ADHD often means battling the intense cycle of starting projects with high ambition but quickly running into burnout. From my experience, a key to managing this is setting realistic daily goals. The "Rule of 3"—choosing just three manageable tasks each day—has helped me protect my dopamine levels and avoid feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to do everything at once. This small adjustment shifts the mindset from perfectionism to progress, emphasizing that getting tasks done is better than aiming for impossible perfection. Another approach that truly changed my productivity is "body doubling." This involves working alongside someone else, even virtually, which helps me stay grounded and focused. The presence of another person cuts through the debilitating overthinking or "ADHD paralysis" that can halt progress before it starts. Most importantly, I’ve learned to listen to my body and energy levels by scheduling "low-demand days" or buffer days with zero expectations. These days allow me to recharge, preventing the burnout and depression cycle familiar to many navigating ADHD. Recognizing that energy fluctuates naturally has been empowering—it’s okay not to be 100% every day. Incorporating these strategies has not only increased my productivity but also improved my overall mental health. If you’re struggling with ADHD burnout, consider adopting these techniques to create a sustainable and compassionate workflow tailored to your unique needs.
