MOM HOT TAKE: your way of parenting isn’t right.

and neither is my way of parenting!

it’s starting to get tiring. i don’t like that moms are being rude and disrespectful in the comments of some of these posts that they don’t agree with. it’s okay if moms celebrate certain holidays or don’t celebrate them. it’s okay if they’re teaching their children certain things. it’s okay if your beliefs are different.

you shouldn’t correct someone for how they parent. what works for them may not work for you.

NONE of that determines if you’re a good mom.

we’re all just trying to raise kind, safe, loved kids, in the way that fits our families best.

it’s exhausting feeling like motherhood comes with rules written by strangers on the internet.

You can gentle parent and lose your cool sometimes.

You can use screen time and still be intentional.

You can discipline your child and still be nurturing.

there’s no one “right” way to raise kids.

fhe real problem? moms acting like their method is the only right way. what works for your child might not work for mine. and that doesn’t make either of us wrong.

... Read moreParenting is deeply personal, and what works for one family may not work for another. It’s important to recognize that every parent adapts their style based on their child’s individual needs, family values, and cultural background. No single approach fits all because children are as diverse as the homes they grow up in. For example, some moms may choose gentle parenting techniques focused on empathy and calm communication, while others may find structure and clear boundaries work best for their children’s development. The key takeaway is that different parenting styles do not imply superiority or failure. It’s normal to sometimes lose patience or to occasionally rely on screen time to manage busy days—none of these moments define a parent’s love or commitment. The phrase from the article, "I don't care how you parent, just don't act like your way is the only 'right' one," perfectly captures the need for mutual respect and understanding among parents. Furthermore, being exposed to various parenting philosophies online can sometimes lead to unnecessary negativity and judgment. Yet, we are all united by the same goal: raising kind, safe, and loved children. Instead of focusing on the 'right' method, supporting each other’s choices fosters a stronger, more compassionate community. After all, parenting doesn’t come with a universal manual, and that’s what makes each family’s journey beautifully unique. Remember, celebrating different holidays, teaching diverse values, or having varied disciplinary approaches are all parts of this individuality. There’s room for all these experiences to coexist without criticism. Embracing this mindset not only reduces stress for moms but also models respect and acceptance for the next generation.
