hello morning

A little sun peeking over the horizon. 🤍 I really liked the smaller painting I did of these dunes, so I decided to try the scene again on an 8×10 canvas, with just a hint of sunlight beginning to break through. I love those quiet moments when the light is just starting to change everything. #Co

Plein Air Painting

A beautiful day painting outside at Valley Forge. ☀️ The red square in the photo shows the little section of the landscape I chose to paint. It’s always interesting deciding what to include and what to leave out when you’re standing in front of an entire landscape with so much to take in. I loved

I love to paint, but it’s not just a nice little relaxing activity. It takes planning and thought before beginning and it can be really frustrating when a painting isn’t coming together #artquotes #artistproblems #ArtistLife #PaintingLife #ArtistThoughts

Quick Study

It’s important to just play around and experiment sometimes. This was a quick sketch I did using paint I had left over after some plein air painting I had done #paintingprocessvideo #artiststudio #inthestudio #watchmepaint #dailypaintings

Artist Quote

I think it’s common for the art process to be 10% painting and 90% damage control, fixing things until you’re happy with the painting! Who agrees? Let me know what your art process looks like below. #artreels #artjourney #artquotes #artgrowth #impressionisticart

First Heron Painting

So, last night when I finished the heron, Lauren came by and said “Oh, I want that” 😁. Warmed my heart. She actually doesn’t have a spot in her tiny NY apt, so I said I’d make her a small 3x3 block heron painting that she can set on her dresser. I’ll put this on the website in a bit but it’s 8x
