Pros/cons being a medical assistant

Hey guys! I wanted to hop on this trend of what rating jobs! I’ve been a medial assistant for about 2 years now and wanted to share my pros and cons on this profession!

👍Why I like it: This career gives you so many opportunities to grow and build your knowledge. As a float and traveling NCMA, I’ve gotten to work with over several doctors in different medical fields. From cosmetic procedures to neurologists. There’s always something to learn and do, not to mention the friendly and comforting environment with staffs! The pay is also a bonus especially if you love living that lavish life! Last but not least I genuinely enjoy helping others and making their days better/ easier! Many people get into the field with just the money in mind but if you do it tends to make your life more difficult, you have to have a genuine passion for others!

🤔Cons: some cons would be how busy you’re going to be and how tired . I tend to find it hard to get some “me” time in and it’s all due to my work hours 😂 . Another thing would be that the doctors can be hard core on you but it’s all for the good of the patient! Especially when you’re dealing with serious cases ..

... Read moreThe role of a medical assistant is multifaceted and can be incredibly fulfilling for those who are passionate about healthcare. While the profession offers excellent opportunities for growth, varied experiences with different medical specialists, and a supportive work environment, it also comes with its own set of challenges. Pros include competitive pay, especially for those who thrive in dynamic settings, and the ability to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Medical assistants often enjoy a diverse workload, engaging with various medical procedures and specialties ranging from cosmetic treatments to serious health cases. Furthermore, the potential for travel as a traveling NCMA can expand your horizons and skills, allowing you to learn from multiple practitioners in different domains. On the flip side, it's essential to acknowledge the cons, such as the demanding nature of the role. Medical assistants often have hectic schedules that can lead to burnout if self-care is neglected. The pressure from healthcare providers to maintain high standards of care can be intense, particularly in critical situations. For those considering this career, it’s crucial to balance ambition with wellness to sustain a long and rewarding journey in healthcare.
