How to stop getting split ends in curly hair
These are my tips for getting rid of split ends and how to prevent split ends in curly hair #curlyhairgrowthtips #curlyhairtips #curlyhairforbeginners #healthyhair #curlyhair
In my personal experience, managing split ends in curly hair comes down to a consistent hair care routine and understanding the unique needs of curls. One key factor is hydration; curly hair tends to be drier, so incorporating deep conditioning treatments once a week can significantly reduce brittleness that leads to split ends. I usually use a moisturizing hair mask enriched with natural oils like argan or coconut oil to nourish my strands. Another trick I found helpful is minimizing heat styling and when necessary, always applying a heat protectant. Heat can weaken the hair shaft and accelerate the formation of split ends. Instead, I try to air-dry my curls and use protective hairstyles to reduce friction and mechanical damage. Trimming is indispensable. Regular trims every 6-8 weeks helped me get rid of existing split ends before they could travel up the hair shaft and cause more damage. It might seem frequent, but even a small trim keeps curls looking healthier. Also, I switched to a wide-tooth comb and avoid brushing my hair when dry, as this caused breakage and split ends. Detangling gently during or after a shower when the curls are wet and slippery has made a big difference. Lastly, sleeping on a satin or silk pillowcase preserves the hair’s natural oils and reduces hair breakage caused by friction compared to cotton pillowcases. Overall, prevention is much easier than repair. Listening to what your curly hair needs and adapting your methods helped me stop getting split ends and achieve long-lasting healthy curls. #curlyhairtips #healthyhair #curlyhairgrowthtips
