Post of the Day
There are moments that bring things back.
Fears you’ve learned to live with quietly.
Thoughts that don’t show up every day.
Until something shifts…
and you feel them again.
It doesn’t mean you’re back at the beginning.
It just means you’re human.
Some things stay with you.
And learning to sit with them
is part of healing too. 🤍 #kjinkedwithhope #postoftheday #journalentry #writing #lifeaftercancer
Sometimes, despite the progress we believe we've made, certain fears and thoughts resurface unexpectedly. From personal experience, I have found that these moments are not setbacks but opportunities to deepen my healing journey. When old fears come back to the surface, it helps to acknowledge them without judgment. Sitting with these feelings, rather than pushing them away, allows us to process unresolved emotions and reminds us that healing is not linear. This is especially true for those coping with life after cancer or other significant challenges where fears may lie dormant for a time before reappearing. It’s important to remember that feeling these emotions again doesn’t mean we are back at square one—it means we are human. Living with these fears quietly can be exhausting, but giving them space can foster acceptance and resilience. Journaling or writing down what these fears bring up can be a practical way to engage with them safely and constructively. Incorporating mindfulness techniques, such as focused breathing or meditation, can also provide comfort when these old emotions arise. The key is to be gentle with yourself and recognize that some aspects of our past experiences will always remain with us in some form. Learning to coexist with them is a vital part of the healing process and personal growth.
