Post of the Day
Sometimes grief catches you off guard.
You think you’re having a normal day…
and then something small brings everything rushing back.
A place.
A smell.
A memory tied to someone you loved deeply.
It doesn’t mean you’re moving backward.
It just means love leaves marks on places, moments, and memories.
And some rooms will always hold a piece of your heart. 🤍 #kjinkedwithhope #postoftheday #journalentry #writing #lifeaftercancer
Grief often arrives when we least expect it, triggered by a seemingly ordinary thing—a certain room, a scent, or a fleeting memory. I've found that these moments can feel overwhelming, but they also serve as powerful reminders of the deep love we carry within us. When grief surfaces this way, it's not a step backward but a testament to the meaningful bonds we've formed. In my own experience, revisiting spaces connected to loved ones has been bittersweet. While the emotions may surge suddenly, these encounters also provide comfort and a chance to reflect on shared moments. Love leaves echoes behind, coloring the places and times that meant something special. This ongoing connection helps in finding peace and continuing to live fully, even after loss. Acknowledging that grief is part of life after profound love—such as surviving cancer or losing someone close—can help frame these experiences differently. They are part of the healing process, allowing us to embrace both sorrow and hope. Holding space for these feelings lets us honor the past while moving forward with compassion for ourselves.
