Fitness Journey
Starting a fitness journey as an FTM transman has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding. When I first began, I focused on finding workouts that aligned with my body and goals, emphasizing strength training to help develop a physique that felt more affirming. One key tip I discovered was the importance of consistency over intensity—small, regular workouts lead to sustainable progress and less risk of injury. Incorporating compound exercises like squats, deadlifts, and bench presses not only improved my muscle mass but also boosted my confidence. It's essential to listen to your body and allow rest days to recover fully. I also found that connecting with communities online or locally increased my motivation and provided valuable support tailored to transmen’s unique fitness experiences. Adjusting nutrition was another crucial part of my fitness journey. Balancing macros helped fuel my workouts and supported muscle growth. Hydration and sleep can't be overlooked, as they significantly impact recovery and overall wellbeing. Remember, each fitness journey is deeply personal. Celebrate small victories and don't hesitate to adapt plans as your needs evolve. Fitness isn't just about physical changes but reclaiming a sense of empowerment and wellbeing. Sharing your story can also inspire others facing similar paths, strengthening our community through shared experiences.
