Song Gye Ok - Best Korean Restaurant in SG?

With friends at The Centrepoint for lunchie at Song Gye Ok. 🍗

Located on Level 2 of the mall, this spot is known in Korea for its charcoal grilling done by trained staff.

My friends went straight for the truffle option in the SamGyeTang, Ginseng chicken soup— and the best part? Fresh truffle was shaved right in front of us.

We also tried grilled chicken parts while some of them ordered Earl Grey and ginseng Highballs, and they were raving about it 😄.

Another friend and I shared the $98 set, which was quite delightful, though we felt the grilled set itself was just okay. Funny enough, the unexpected highlight for us was the grilled rice balls — ironic, considering this place is famous for its grilled chicken and soups!

Looking around, almost every table had grills. The place definitely has a lively, social vibe, great for a night out with friends.

Song Gye Ok Singapore (The Centrepoint) | Korean Grilled Chicken Specialty Restaurant

... Read moreIf you're considering visiting Song Gye Ok beyond just trying their grilled chicken and ginseng soup, you might want to explore their full menu, which offers a variety of authentic Korean flavors that truly capture the essence of dining in Seoul. The charcoal grilling by trained staff ensures that each bite is infused with a smoky aroma, enhancing the savory taste. Personally, I found the grilled rice balls to be a surprising highlight. It’s impressive how a simple dish can stand out alongside more complex offerings like the traditionally prepared SamGyeTang with fresh truffle topping. This creativity adds dimension to the meal that can delight those looking to explore beyond typical Korean BBQ. Drinks such as the Earl Grey and ginseng Highballs provide a refreshing balance to the rich flavors of the grilled chicken and soups, which makes the experience complete. Eating here offers more than just food—it’s about the vibrant atmosphere and communal feel, ideal for groups wanting a cozy night out. For newcomers, I'd recommend arriving early or booking ahead during peak hours given its popularity. Also, consider sharing larger sets like the $98 grilled set to fully appreciate the range of offerings without missing out on favorites like their soups and unique grilled sides. All in all, Song Gye Ok lives up to its reputation as a must-visit Korean restaurant in Singapore's The Centrepoint, blending authentic taste and engaging service that make for a memorable dining outing.

This korean restaurant makes tofu from scratch !
Most Korean restaurants buy their tofu. This one makes it fresh in-house. 👀 We ordered their beef & pork tofu stews, bulgogi hot stone bibimbap, potato pancake, and hairtail fish — enough for 3–4 people and surprisingly affordable. 📍Wonderful Bapsang, Suntec 💰 Only about $20–30/pax
