... Read moreI remember times when I felt like there was absolutely no hope, and the idea of trusting anything, let alone 'God's plan,' seemed impossible. It's a deeply unsettling feeling, isn't it? That heavy weight of uncertainty, the fear of what's next, and the overwhelming desire to just hold onto some semblance of control. For so long, I wrestled with this, trying to navigate every detail of my life on my own terms, only to often find myself more lost and anxious than before.
It was in those moments of despair that I started to truly understand what it means to surrender. The journey to 'Trusting His Plan' wasn't instant; it was a gradual process of learning to loosen my grip on what I thought my life 'should' look like. I began to meditate on scriptures like Jeremiah 29:11, which speaks of God's plans 'to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' This verse became a beacon for me, a reminder that even when my own vision was obscured, there was a greater, more loving plan at work.
One of the biggest hurdles was accepting that 'God's good plans' often unfold 'even when the way is unclear.' We want a clear map, right? But sometimes faith means taking that next step without seeing the entire staircase. I found immense comfort in sharing my struggles with a trusted friend, someone who could remind me of God's faithfulness when my own faith felt weak. Prayer also became less of a chore and more of a conversation with a loving Father, where I could honestly express my fears and doubts.
Practically, I started small. Instead of trying to trust God with my entire future overnight, I focused on trusting Him with the next hour, the next day. I began to document moments where things worked out in ways I couldn't have orchestrated, little affirmations that His hand was truly guiding me. This practice helped build a foundation of trust, like building blocks, one on top of the other.
Letting go of control doesn't mean becoming passive; it means actively choosing to believe that God’s wisdom is far superior to our own. It means recognizing that His perspective is eternal, while ours is limited. When I started to genuinely trust that He has my best interests at heart, an incredible peace began to settle over me. That constant internal battle quieted down, replaced by a quiet confidence.
So, if you're feeling hopeless today, if trust feels like a foreign concept, know that you're not alone. It's okay to feel scared. But I encourage you to take that tiny step, to whisper a prayer, to read that verse, or simply acknowledge that there might be a bigger plan at play. The blessings and opportunities that unfold when you lean into His guidance are truly beyond what you can imagine. It's a journey, but one that leads to true peace and a future filled with hope.
Amen 🙏 ❤️
