September watched list

I totally get it – there's nothing like a good suspenseful movie to keep you on the edge of your seat. While my September watch list was a bit of a mix, I've been thinking about some amazing titles that fit the bill, especially if you're into themes like 'missing child' or psychological twists. If you're scouring Netflix for movies that tackle the gripping 'missing child' trope, you're in for a treat. These films often weave together intense investigations, emotional family struggles, and shocking revelations. One that immediately comes to mind, although it wasn't on my September list, is 'The Call' (2020), a South Korean thriller available on Netflix that uses a phone connection across time to create a truly unsettling experience. It's not strictly about a missing child, but the urgency and desperation it evokes are similar to what you'd find in that genre. Speaking of thrillers, you might remember I rated REBEL RIDGE a solid 10/10 on my September list. If you haven't seen it, it's a non-stop ride that will keep you guessing. It doesn't have a missing child theme, but the intensity and stakes are incredibly high, which I think fans of suspense will appreciate. Similarly, the Netflix limited series THE PERFECT COUPLE, which debuted this September, also earned a 10 from me. It's a fantastic mystery that unravels a tangled web of secrets, making it perfect for anyone who loves dramatic reveals and complex characters. While not about a missing child, it offers the same kind of gripping narrative that keeps you theorizing until the very end. And for those who were specifically looking for 'The Night House,' I completely understand why it's on your radar! It's a masterful psychological horror film that delves into grief, unsettling discoveries, and a truly eerie atmosphere. While it might not be streaming on Netflix or Prime Video in all regions, it's definitely worth seeking out if you appreciate a film that messes with your mind long after the credits roll. It’s got that slow-burn tension that builds to a genuinely disturbing conclusion. Also, don't forget about other Netflix originals like UGLIES, which just dropped this September. While it's more dystopian sci-fi, Netflix often blends genres, and you might find elements of mystery or suspense if you give it a try. And for something completely different but still worth a watch, my September list also included AMERICAN SOCIETY OF MAGICAL NEGROES. It’s a unique take on fantasy and social commentary, and while it might not be a thriller, sometimes a change of pace is exactly what you need between intense watches!
