set apart 🌎✨
The message my pastor taught from today was James 1:1-12 and I wanted to share a few points that stood out to me.
The points I wrote down are:
- we are set apart from the world; therefore, we must follow Jesus not the ways of this world. Remember!! This world is not our home.
- It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when the trials come.
- As Christians, we will go through trials that will test our faith. But, we must stay strong in Christ.
- During the storm, hold onto Jesus.
- Let your light shine for Jesus, even when it’s hard or scary.
- Lean on Jesus. He will carry you through the darkness.
”Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.“

Another verse to remember during the trials is Philippians 4:13.
”I can do all this through him who gives me strength.“

In times of difficulty, Christians are often reminded of their calling to remain steadfast in faith. The teachings from James 1:1-12 highlight that trials are not just obstacles but opportunities for spiritual growth and perseverance. Engaging with scriptures such as Philippians 4:13 emphasizes the strength that believers can find through their faith in Jesus. Remember, when facing challenges, it's essential to lean on God's promises and seek wisdom through prayer, as God generously provides guidance.
