Witch Hat ep.3 This scene will be better if you cut out the speech.
The Witch Hat Atelier has reached episode 3 and has once again shown its brilliance in storytelling by using a back almanac and a bond with a mother to tell through a flower-keeping test scene that pushes up on a floating earth island like a giant balloon, but also comes through with the love power and bond of a mother-child, as seen in the photo.
Why are we so grateful for this scene? Because throughout the episode it tells the story of the Coco mother who sees the heroine's bond and willingness to go back and help the mother get through the repeated flashback almost throughout the episode. That we don't get annoyed because it slowly drops and never stays the same every time.
If you observe it carefully, you will see that the whole episode focuses only on the heroine's mother, but only changes the way it is presented. All that is done to improve the mood and turn into a good feeling of release in the last episode when the heroine completes the mission. All we see in this scene is a technique called "Motif."
If you can't imagine, think about your name, why do you appreciate the palm scene in the mountain? It's Motif telling the story through "name" in that story.
But the only thing that fascinated me to write this post was the scene in which the heroine flew by her own magic and turned to see the rock to think of the house and her mother, before breaking down in tears and saying, "What I learned from helping my mother help me with my magic," that's why he interfered with saying it?
In this scene, I suggest watching it again and then mute the sound, not reading the liner just when I mentioned it. I believe that without this talk, just seeing the tearful heroine's face, we will understand the heroine's feelings better than having her speak.
So I was wondering, I opened the manga, and sometimes, this scene in the manga is a channel where the characters think what they see in the picture, but the anime has the characters speak out instead. It's not a mistake, it's a pity. You've painted the characters' movements and facial expressions so well.
The director should trust the audience and show the potential of storytelling and emotion through the picture, opening up the audience to use their own imaginative thoughts, which in the story is already doing well. At first, when the heroine didn't open her mouth, I sat and stood up to applaud because it was superior to the manga by telling the story through the picture.
